1966 Ford Mustang ‘Fastback ‘GT 350 R’
Notes: This is an old race car. Done like they did ’em back in the day- ’cause this car was set up back in the day. Carol had a booming parts business, an enthusiast/racer could replicate their own GT 350. Or a GT 350 ‘R’. Now GT 350s are six figure cars. One of the 35 ‘R’ competition examples are 7 figure cars. This is largely a period R’ model which does not benefit from a VIN # allocated to Shelby Enterprises for conversion at his Venice, CA facility.
Car features a fresh built 289 (w/Dart heads), a close ratio 4 spd., T-10 ‘Top Loader’ and 9″ rear (w/ locker). Shelby suspension tricks (w/ new Koni Classic adj. shocks). This car has most all the authentic ‘R’ details, has race history, including a recent SCCA log book for hill climb competition. Although never significantly wrecked or rusted- car is ‘race car clean’. This is not some restored garage queen. It is void of any creature comforts (radio, heater delete), it is crude, raw, light, loud and lotsa fun! Makes all the right noises.
Car is street legal – as it is pre-smog.
This would be a great car to thrash on weekends, good for vintage rallies or a great head start on a vintage (VARA) road race car. Please call for any additional information. Possible financing, trades considered.
